Justification for Request
  • What research has led to this request?*

    The PGA Golf Management program requires a series of 4 internships (PGA 180, 280, 380, and 480).  The PGA 480 class represents a 7-month commitment by the student to complete the PGA-required total of 16 months of internship experience. As is, our students are getting billed for 3 credits during their final semester while they are away from CCU and in the field.  A significant number of our PGA students are out-of-state students.  This final semester tuition bill is a hardship for our students and families who have already invested significant time and money to progress through our program.

  • What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?*

    This is simply a change in the credits assigned to the final internship experience for our PGA Golf Management students.  Students will still complete all degree requirements for their chosen major.  They will still complete all PGA Golf Management requirements.  And, they will still complete more than the total of 120 credits hours for the undergraduate degree.

  • What financial costs are associated with this request?*

    This change represents a reduction in cost for the student and foregone tuition revenue for the university.

  • If NO change in cost is anticipated, how is this possible?

    CCU will incur no additional costs to implement this change.  Rather, it will forego the tuition revenue these final-semester PGA students typically pay.

    This change does not alter our compliance with program guidance from the PGA of America.
