  • What research has led to this request?*

    After three years of researching and redesigning the curriculum for five concentrations in the Communication major to match up-to-date pedagogical thoughts and practices, Department faculty determined separating two concentrations from the major into their own programs and removal of the remaining concentrations (reworked to be simple suggestions, not required concentrations) in the major would benefit students. Working with other proposals, this removes one of the concentrations from the major that is also being proposed as its own major program.

    It is important that this proposal, if approved, not be implemented until ACALOG Program OID 5560 is approved and implemented.

  • What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?*

    None, as this is only removing how a part of the current Communication major is structured. All courses that are part of other majors and minors will continue to be offered.
